Technology and Cybersecurity for Education
Kim Carrier, an 18-year veteran classroom teacher at Rome Free Academy, has spent the last 20 years with New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) negotiating contracts and handling arbitrations. She was part of the leadership program which partnered NYSUT with Cornell’s ILR School. Kim calls on both her classroom and leadership experience to guide technology solutions that make sense for school districts. She has worked closely with, and understands the needs of, students, teachers, and administrators.
Rick Pollard brings 25 years of experience in public education, the last 12 serving as Assistant Director of the Central New York Regional Information Center (CNYRIC) at OCM BOCES. He is a certified administrator who brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of IT operations, strategic service planning and management, instructional technology integration, and communications. Prior to this, Rick served as a Directory of Technology for the Westhill and Mexico school districts where he led the districts’ technology programs. Starting his career as a school counselor at the Fayetteville-Manlius School District, Rick, like Kim, understands education from the most fundamental levels. Together, Kim and Rick are the driving force behind a slate of new educational offerings that leverage the technical talent at MA Polce. From network support and hardware procurement to cybersecurity and NIST compliance, we are excited to help schools manage the ever-changing world of IT.
